Dielman peddling his wares in Seattle
By: MIKE SULLIVAN - Staff Writer | ∞
Unrestricted free-agent guard Kris Dielman was in Seattle meeting with the Seahawks on Friday at the same time that his bargaining leverage was skyrocketing.
The Chargers' lineman, already in high demand, can only be helped by Cleveland's signing of the other premium guard on the market. The Browns lured Eric Steinbach away from Cincinnati with a seven-year deal worth a reported $49.5 million, the richest contract for a guard in NFL history.
The Chargers have privately decided Dielman's worth to them, and it is doubtful it's close to the deal Steinbach landed.
Outside linebacker Joey Porter, cut by Pittsburgh on Thursday in a salary-cap move, is interested in playing with the Chargers, according to sources who spoke with Porter on Friday. The Bakersfield native expects to visit with San Francisco in coming days.
Porter doesn't appear to be a fit for the Chargers, who have two young, productive outside linebackers -- Shawne Merriman and Shaun Phillips -- under long-term contracts. The Steelers saved $5 million by releasing Porter. He was slated to earn a $1 million roster bonus on Tuesday and $4 million in 2007 base pay.
In other news, the Chargers signed receiver Greg Camarillo and offensive tackle Cory Lekkerkerker to one-year contracts. Both players were exclusive-rights free agents.

There are rumblings that the Lions are open to moving Bell after getting him from Denver at midnight Thursday. Whether or not they decide to deal Bell could give us on tell on how far along Kevin Jones is in his rehab. Mar. 2 - 10:36 pm et Source: Profootballtalk.com
