NORTH COUNTY ---- Vision to Page is a competition that invites writers of all ages to submit one piece, with a maximum of 800 words, about "Innocence is Questionable," an upcoming exhibition to be featured March 1 to May 1 at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido Museum.
The exhibition will include artwork by recipients of the 2006-07 San Diego Art Prize. All literary formats including prose in the form of general interest articles, critiques, reviews and poetry will be accepted. Submissions will be accepted March 1 through 28 through the Web site of the North County Times, one of the contest's sponsors. Winning entries will be published in the newspaper.
The goal of the competition is to encourage discussion about the visual arts in San Diego County and disseminate more information and opinions about the San Diego Visual Arts Network Art Prize artists of 2006-07.
Entries will be accepted and cash awards will be given in two categories: Junior Writers for people 18 and younger, $100 prize and two internships at the San Diego Visual Arts Network; and Young/Adult Writers, $300 prize and a chance for a byline on the San Diego Visual Arts Network for a series of articles.
Judges will be North County Times staff members: Features Editor Laura Groch, Entertainment Editor Pam Kragen and features writer Gary Warth.
The project is a collaboration between the San Diego Visual Arts Network, SanDiegoArtist.com and the CCAE. The organizations and the North County Times are sponsoring the contest. Family members and employees of the sponsors are not eligible to enter.
