SUN CITY ---- The third meeting to plan Menifee's Oct. 1 Inaugural Celebration will be held Monday at Boston Billie's restaurant.

So far, the group has decided that the celebration will include a 5:30 p.m. "meet and greet," followed by a one-hour council meeting. At 7:30 p.m., there will be a celebration with drinks, appetizers and music at Menifee Lakes Country Club, said council member-elect Darcy Kuenzi.

Kuenzi, council member-elect Scott Mann and others are also planning a surprise commemorative item that might be included for guests at the historic event, Kuenzi said. They are working on a possible theme for the evening also that will be "elegant, moving and ceremonial," she promised.

"Cityhood is a huge thing," Kuenzi said. "It has been started and stopped and started and finally passed, and for all the diverse areas to come together is just pretty spectacular."

Monday's meeting will start at 6 p.m. at the restaurant, 26850 Cherry Hills Blvd.
